The Human Resource Generalist will administer, maintain and enforce company policies and procedures defined in the employee handbook. Seeks out, screens, interviews, and recruits job applicants to fill open jobs. Assist with conflict resolution, employee relations, benefits and orientation. Assist with supervising of payroll for hourly employees.
Attend meetings of managers, supervisors, and departments to facilitate effective interpersonal communication among participants to ascertain human relations and work-related problems which could impact employee morale and organizational productivity.
Evaluate human relations to establish a strategic approach to improve morale where needed and create activities to bolster positive interaction between wage earners and salary employees.
Meets with supervisors and managers to determine effective remediation techniques for work related issues such as job skill training for poor work performance, intervention and counseling to resolve human relations issues among personnel.
Facilitate employee empowerment (training and meetings).
Develops and conducts training to instruct organization managers, supervisors, and employees in skills such as supervisory skills, conflict resolution skills, interpersonal communication skills, and effective group interaction.
Conducts required training of all employees, compiles and maintains training file and matrix for hourly positions.
Maintain consistent application of all disciplinary procedures.
Organize and distribute service awards and perfect attendance.
Prepare communication pieces for employees, including the company newsletter, postings, and employment ads.
Recruit, screen, test and interview applicants.
Plan and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation and conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
Represents organization at unemployment and workers comp related hearings and investigations.
Coordinates open enrollments and employees with benefit questions.
Administers company Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) programs, reviews documentation, and recommends approval or denial of leave requests. Advises HR Manager and Staff on US Employment Laws.
Advises supervisors and management members in the day-to-day administration of the policies and procedures.
Enters and verifies information in company Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) system(s).
Assist with any other duties deemed necessary with the Human Resources Department.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assumes supervisory position in absence of the Human Resources Manager.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Human Resources Management (as a major or emphasis) or related. Two or more years related experience. PHR certificate preferred. Additional key
Experience: recruiting and interviewing; SAP, HRIS, ERP, MRP or related software; Microsoft Office.
