Tool Room Supervisor (Automotive Manufacturing)
Our client, located in Atlantic, Iowa, has an immediate need to fill the position of Tool Room Supervisor (Automotive Manufacturing).
Job Description
This individual supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment, to fabricate metal parts and tools by performing the following Duties and Responsibilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
o Directs workers in the production and regrinding of cutting tools.
o Assists workers in set-up and procedures to produce cutting tools.
o Requisitions and keeps supply of spare parts.
o Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
o Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
o Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
o Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
o Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
o Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
o Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
o Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
o Maintains time and production records.
o Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
o Performs activities of workers supervised.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises 9 - 10 employees in Technical Support. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
